Mrs. Bishop is a certified public accountant, licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and certified by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants with an accreditation in business valuation. Since 2008 she is the managing shareholder in the ce1tified public accounting and litigation consulting firm of Bishop & Bishop, P.C. located in Moorestown, New Jersey. She holds her Master of Science in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Maryland University College (2007) and is an honors graduate of Rider University with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce - Accounting (1984). From 1998 to 2007 Mrs. Bishop was a shareholder with Gold, Meltzer, Plasky & Wise (n/k/a Gold Gerstein Group, LLC).
She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is a past Trustee of the NJSCPA (2013 to 2016), past chairman of the NJSCPA Matrimonial Services/Family Law Committee, a member of the Scholarship Awards Committee (Scholars Institute and Pay It Forward programs) and a member of the Financial Literacy Committee.
Mrs. Bishop reports and testifies as an expert witness in court proceedings for purposes of matrimonial, stockholder, and economic damages/lost profits litigation. She prepares valuation rep01ts for business and professional practices for purposes of matrimonial litigation, shareholder disputes and estate planning. Mrs. Bishop investigates, writes reports and participates in settlement negotiations for a variety of litigation and forensic accounting engagements. She also manages due diligence engagements for selling clients.
Sharon has served as a Blue Ribbon Panelist in Burlington County. Sharon has been a speaker at the NJ Judicial College and regularly attends seminars conducted by various professional organizations concerning business valuation, matrimonial litigation and federal and state taxation. She most enjoys speaking about financial literacy to all audiences.
Sharon concentrates her practice on accounting, tax and consulting services for individuals and closely held businesses, individuals involved in matrimonial litigation and businesses involved in civil litigation. Represented industries include manufacturing, distribution, transportation, food service, retail, finance, and real estate, and medical and legal practices. Mrs. Bishop is represented on the following non-profit boards: Treasurer/Past President (9 years) - Strawbridge Professional Center Association (Moorestown, NJ) and Evergreens Continuing Care Retirement Community (13 years) (Moorestown, NJ) as a general board member and member of the Strategic Relations Ad Hoc Committee (1 year).
